1. Outside Product Support Sales Representative

Coastal Equipment — Virginia Beach, VA

Coastal Equipment, the John Deere Construction Equipment dealer serving the Hampton Roads area of Virginia, is seeking an experienced Outside Product Support Sales Representative to help customers maximize uptime through proactive parts and service support.

This position is responsible for driving product support growth by conducting regular jobsite visits, performing equipment inspections and undercarriage measurements, identifying wear-related issues early, and providing repair and maintenance solutions that prevent unplanned downtime.

Position Overview

The Outside Product Support Sales Representative serves as Coastal Equipment’s primary field resource for parts and service support across the territory.

The ideal candidate understands construction equipment well enough to identify developing issues, recommend solutions, and work directly with field decision-makers such as foremen, superintendents, and fleet personnel.

Key Responsibilities

·        Conduct regular customer calls and jobsite visits throughout the territory

·        Perform equipment inspections, including undercarriage measurements and wear evaluations

·        Identify service and repair opportunities and recommend proactive solutions

·        Generate and follow up on parts and service quotes

·        Drive product support revenue through parts, service labor, and inspection-based sales

·        Help convert competitive repair and service work back to Coastal Equipment

·        Work closely with the Parts and Service teams to ensure accurate quoting and execution

·        Maintain customer activity, machine profiles, and opportunity tracking within CRM

·        Support overall customer satisfaction through consistent follow-up and field presence

Qualifications

·        3+ years of experience in the heavy equipment or construction equipment industry

·        Strong understanding of equipment wear components, undercarriage, and service needs

·        Ability to perform inspections and identify preventative repair opportunities

·        Proven ability to build relationships and generate sales through field support

·        Professional communication and interpersonal skills

·        Comfortable working directly with field-level customer decision-makers

·        Experience using CRM systems and standard business software

·        Valid driver’s license and clean driving record

Coastal Equipment, the John Deere Construction Equipment Dealer in Virginia Beach, VA and Yorktown, VA is currently hiring entry level technicians who are currently enrolled at well-respected diesel tech programs as well as recent graduates from these programs. - Understanding of electrical and electronic systems

- 21 years of age or older
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
- Valid Driver's License and a clean driving record
- Must possess a minimum set of hand tools
- Have basic computer skills
